As a little girl, I was fascinated with the piano. As an adult, I am fascinated by
how we learn and love it.

I am enormously interested in the ways that children demonstrate their musicianship from their earliest days. My work has enabled me to think deeply about how teachers might best provide experiences for students to explore and gather musical information, and to develop and refine their musical behaviors.

My interactions with children in piano lesson settings have taught me how to claim my own musicianship, and how to continue our musical encounters in ways that keep musicianship alive for all of us. Helping teachers to find their best practice and most enjoyment is a natural step out of all I have learned.
