Aspects of Musical Development: An Overview

This class is an overview of what is meant by the term "Musical Development". The class is based on the understanding that musical ability is not a static trait that a child either has or doesn't have; instead, musical ability is something all children have to varying degree, which can be shaped and grow within a musical environment. The class walks through the definitions of development vs. learning, the possible musical vocabularies we are working on in a musical environment, and how children refine their capacity for musicality and acquire musical skill.
